The avalanche prone locations are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. The new snow must be evaluated with care and prudence. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in some places adjacent to ridgelines.
In some localities up to 10 cm of snow, but less in some localities, has fallen above approximately 1500 m. The snowpack will be in most cases subject to considerable local variations. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted and weak. This applies in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 1900 m. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the icy crust.
