High temperatures and rain throughout the day will increase the water content in the snowpack. In many places, the snowpack has transformed through melting into coarse-grained snow that drains water well, but wet avalanches can still release naturally in exposed areas, especially on steep slopes. Wet loose snow avalanches are the most likely avalanche problem. Most are expected to be small, but medium-sized avalanches may occur.
High in the mountains, there are still layered structures within the snowpack, especially on north-facing slopes. Snowmelt allows meltwater to penetrate into the snowpack and weaken these layers, which may lead to wet slab avalanches. Such avalanches are difficult to forecast and can become larger than typical loose snow avalanches. Glide avalanches may also occur where water collects over smooth surfaces such as exposed rock slabs. In addition, cornices are weakening and may break off.

Høye temperaturer og regn utover dagen vil øke vanninnholdet i snødekket. Mange steder er snødekket smelteomvandlet, grovkornet og drenerer vann godt, men våte skred kan likevel løsne naturlig på utsatte steder, særlig i bratte sider. Våte løssnøskred er det mest sannsynlige skredproblemet. De fleste ventes å være små, men middels store skred kan forekomme.
Høyt til fjells finnes det fortsatt lagdeling i snødekket, spesielt i nordvendte sider. Snøsmelting gjør at smeltevann kan trenge ned i snødekket og svekke disse lagene, noe som kan gi våte flakskred. Slike skred er vanskelige å varsle og kan bli større enn typiske løssnøskred. Glideskred kan også forekomme der vann samler seg over glatte underlag som svaberg. I tillegg svekkes skavler som gjør at disse kan knekke.
Snøoverflaten har et tydelig vårlig preg, og det har vært kraftig smelting den siste tiden. Sammenhengende snø finnes fra omtrent 300–500 moh og oppover, avhengig av hvor i regionen du befinner deg, med mest snø i nordvendt terreng og i indre strøk. Snødekket er i hovedsak smelteomvandlet. Likevel kan det fortsatt finnes noe lagdeling igjen i skyggesider og på de høyeste toppene.
