Forecast Snow Stability: Above 800m, on West, through North and East to South aspects, existing isolated windslab, on steep sheltered locations, will undergo a period of instability through the day as the temperatures rise and rain falls to the summits. Although not extensive in either area or depth, this windslab will be prone to wet instabilities, and on very steep locations small avalanches are possible. Corrie flanks, cross loaded gullies and gully tops will be most affected. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: There will be moderate precipitation throughout the period, initially snow above 750 metres, but turning to rain at all levels by the afternoon. Winds will be strong to very strong, South South-Westerly. During the morning the freezing level will rise sharply from 800 metres to above the summits and remain there. Observed Weather Influences: After a dry morning, some very light precipitation developed from the west, falling as snow above 600 metres. Winds were fresh to strong, mainly Southerly, with the freezing level around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Isolated unstable windslab continues to persist in steep, wind sheltered locations above 800 metres, on mainly North-East through East, to Southerly aspects. Fresh recent unstable windslab, is also found on West to North aspects, again above 800 metres in steep wind sheltered locations. Scoured snow remains firm and icy. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
