Forecast Snow Stability: Localised moderately to weakly bonded windslab will persist in steeper wind sheltered locations on West through North to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Gully tops, steep scarp slopes and around corrie rims will be worst affected. Localised areas of moderately bonded snow will be encountered below this altitude and occasionally on wind sheltered South-West and East aspects. Exposed slopes will be scoured and icy. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry overnight and through most of the day, with very light snowfall arriving by mid-afternoon. Moderate North-North-Westerly winds overnight, will steadily increase to strong by the end of the period. Freezing level generally around 600 metres, with a brief rise to 700 metres, then lowering to 400 metres by late afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight snowfall to glen level eased first thing to give a mainly dry but cloudy day, until late afternoon when further snowfall arrived above 600 metres. Severe gale force South and South-South-Easterly winds overnight, eased to fresh South-South-Westerly during the day. Freezing to glen level overnight, rising to around 800 metres by mid-afternoon, then lowering again. ObservedSnowStability: Snowfall and drifting deposits have formed moderately to weakly bonded windslab in wind sheltered locations on West through North to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Steep slopes, corrie rims and gully tops are worst affected. Fragile cornices have formed. Moderately bonded windslab is present below this altitude and on some South-West and East aspects. Wind exposed slopes are scoured and icy. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
