As a consequence of the snowfall the size of the avalanche prone locations will increase in the late morning. The avalanches can release the moist old snow as well and reach large size. This applies in particular at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions. The fresh snow and the wind slabs can be released easily, even by a single winter sport participant,. Up to 2000 m rain will fall from late morning. As the moisture increases medium-sized and large moist and wet avalanches are to be expected, especially at low and intermediate altitudes. Wet avalanches can reach a long way in particular in steep gullies. Ski touring and snowshoe hiking call for experience and a certain restraint.

Over a wide area 20 to 40 cm of snow will fall above approximately 2500 m. The southeasterly wind will transport the snow. In some cases the wind slabs have bonded poorly with the old snowpack. Rain to intermediate altitudes: The weather conditions as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack.

On Thursday as a consequence of the precipitation there will be a gradual increase in the danger.
