Avalanche Activity

In some localities up to 20 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 3000 m. Weakly bonded old snow at intermediate altitudes.

During the night the wind was moderate to strong in some cases in some localities. In particular in the vicinity of peaks large surface-area wind slabs formed. Wind slabs are to be evaluated with care and prudence.

Snowpack Structure

The sleet gave rise during the course of the night to moistening of the snowpack in all aspects below approximately 2800 m. These conditions will foster a weakening of the snowpack. In some localities up to 20 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 3000 m. In particular in the vicinity of peaks large surface-area wind slabs formed.
