Avalanche problems

    • Above 2,000 m

Avalanche Activity

Fresh wind slabs in high Alpine regions.

As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong northwesterly wind, mostly small wind slabs formed. Very isolated avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in steep terrain at high altitude and adjacent to ridgelines.

Snowpack Structure

Only a little snow is lying in all altitude zones. The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. The small quantity of fresh snow of last week and the scattered small wind slabs remain in some cases prone to triggering.
