Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected. The snowpack, which exists mainly in the higher North and East facing corries will remain well bonded and stable. The snow surface will be very firm and icy in most locations, only softening slightly where exposed to the sun. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: A cold, dry day with some clouds and light, mainly Easterly winds. The freezing level will be around 750 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A cold, dry day with light to moderate North-Easterly winds. After an overnight frost the freezing level rose to around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack, which exists mainly in the higher North and East facing corries, is well bonded and stable. The snowpack is generally very firm only softening slightly where exposed to the sun. The avalanche hazard is Low.
