More dry avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. These can as before be released by a single winter sport participant. This applies especially on very steep slopes adjacent to ridgelines. As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of moist avalanches being released will increase a little in particular on rocky slopes.
The sometimes deep wind slabs of last week have bonded quite well with the old snowpack. The snowpack will be stable over a wide area. Towards its surface, the snowpack consists of rounded crystals and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is not capable of bearing a load. In the event of solar radiation this applies especially on sunny slopes. Shady slopes: The snowpack is fairly homogeneous and its surface consists of surface hoar.
