The more recent wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant above approximately 2200 m. They are mostly small but to be assessed critically, in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. On very steep slopes and above the tree line the likelihood of avalanches is higher. At elevated altitudes the avalanche prone locations are more widespread and the danger is slightly greater. Small and medium-sized natural avalanches are possible.

The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field. 30 to 50 cm of snow fell today above approximately 2000 m. Thus far the wind has been strong. Over a wide area new snow and wind slabs are lying on a hard crust. The fresh snow and the wind slabs have bonded quite well with the old snowpack. Above approximately 2000 m snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 2200 m a little snow is lying. The old snowpack will be generally well bonded.
