Over a wide area 20 to 40 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall on Friday above approximately 1400 m. Near the border with France and along the border with Switzerland the likelihood of avalanches is higher. If more snow falls danger level 3 (considerable) may be reached in the afternoon. The sometimes strong wind will transport the new snow. The mostly small wind slabs can be released even by a single winter sport participant. In regions exposed to heavier precipitation the avalanche prone locations are more widespread. These avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep slopes and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Small and medium-sized natural avalanches are possible in particular on wind-loaded slopes.

Little snow fell on Thursday along the border with France and along the border with Switzerland. 5 to 15 cm of snow, but less in some localities, has fallen above approximately 2000 m. The new snow and wind slabs will be deposited on a weakly bonded old snowpack on rather lightly snow-covered shady slopes. Will be deposited on a crust on steep south, west and southeast facing slopes. Below approximately 2200 m only a little snow is lying on south and southwest facing slopes. Above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Also adjacent to ridgelines hardly any snow is lying.
