Little Yoho.
Field observations are limited in the Little Yoho region. Please consider forecasters are operating with low confidence based on low number of recent field observations.
Clear skies and temps around -10 are expected on Wednesday. A small system is moving into the forecast region on Thurs and Friday. Small amounts of precipitation are expected, somewhere in the neighborhood of 10cm. This will have little effect on the danger rating.
Above 2000m, soft wind slabs have formed on many different aspects. 60-80 cm of settled storm snow at treeline and above overlies a generally settled snowpack. Some snow pits have found facets at this storm snow interface. Below 1800m a breakable surface crust exists on all aspects which becomes supportive and stronger at lower elevations.
No new avalanches were reported today in Little Yoho, however our field teams haven't had good observations from this area for a week or so.
