Three to six inches of snow lies upon a stable snowpack. Avalanches are unlikely today except for the chance to trigger small sluffs or shallow soft slabs in very steep terrain at the high elevations. Unstable moist flow will continue to bring snow to localized areas overnight and through Saturday. Snowfall resulting from these systems may be heavy at times although short in duration and distribution. Temperatures should rise into the upper twenties in the mountains and the upper thirties at low elevations where some rain is potential to fall. Winds are to be light. The general avalanche hazard will be LOW. Above 8500' backcountry travelers have the potential to trigger new snow sluffs or potentially shallow soft surface slabs in very steep terrain.
