Avalanche Summary

Most slopes are generally safe from avalanches. The few areas where you might be able to trigger a small avalanche are in steep gullies or couloirs or just below a ridgeline where you can encounter stiff, hollow, wind-drifted snow. Even a small avalanche can knock you over and take you for a ride so be aware of any terrain traps such as a cliff or rocks below you.
