Avalanche Summary

The most dangerous slopes are where you find stiff slabs of wind-drifted snow above treeline. Recent winds from the southeast will shift back to northerly directions Friday night and Saturday so you can find these dangerous wind-drifts on a variety of aspects. If you are traveling in the backcountry pay attention to which direction the wind is blowing snow and avoid traveling on steep slopes where you notice snow being deposited. Wind-sheltered slopes at lower elevations offer safer travel options.
