Avalanche Summary

An Avalanche Warning is in effect the the southern San Juan Mountains from the La Plata Mountains and east to the Wolf Creek Pass area. A potent winter storm will bring feet of snow and very strong southwesterly winds. Avalanche danger will rapidly rise through Wednesday, and some large and dangerous avalanches will run naturally. Travel in backcountry avalanche terrain is not recommended.
