Cold temperatures have mitigated the wet slide hazard. If the weather forecast verifies and we recieve several inches of new snow during the day strong westerly winds will begin to create isolated pockets of shallow soft slab on leeward aspects at the higher elevations.

Snow shower activity will decrease but continue overnight. On Thursday skies will be mostly cloudy with a mix or snow and rain showers. Temperatures will drop into the 20s tonight and warm into the 30s and 40s during the day. Winds will be west to southwest at 20 with gusts to 30 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. At the upper elevations isolated pockets of wind slab up to 14 inches in depth could be human triggered in some steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. These surface slabs could knock a person over and/or carry them down a very steep slope. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid and lower elevations.
