Avalanche Summary

You could trigger an avalanche in a drift of fresh snow on north, northeast, and east-facing slopes above treeline where that new snow sits on an old snow surface. Be on the lookout for cracking and avoid fresh, pillowy, lens-shaped drifts below ridgelines and in cross-loaded terrain features. Additional snow and wind loading on Friday will increase the avalanche's size and likelihood.

Safer travel can be found in wind-sheltered and lower-elevation terrain, where the new snow remains unconsolidated.
