Slabs to two feet in depth could be human triggered on very steep lee slopes at upper elevations. Shallow areas of snow over steep cliff bands and chutes rests on weak faceted crystals and should be avoided. Mostly stable snow exists at the mid and lower elevations.

A west - northwesterly flow aloft with generally dry air will keep the region dry Tuesday. Winds will be westerly at 15 in the morning increasing to 20 miles per hour in the afternoon. Mountain temperatures will rise from the mid teens in the morning to near 30 during the day.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE at upper elevations (9,000 to 10,500 feet). People traveling into very steep avalanche starting zones could release slab avalanches to 24 inches in depth. Avalanche prone slopes below ridge crests or snow over, or just below, rock bands should be avoided. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid and lower elevations where the hazard is expected to be LOW.
