At the high elevations skiers and riders will have the ability to initiate sluffing of the new light snow as well as very soft shallow surface slabs in steep terrain. These small slides are only a concern in long, constricting terrain features where moving snow could increase in volume to a size that could push travelers into hazards below. Significant avalanche activity is not expected at the mid and low elevations.

After a weak split trough produces areas of light snow through the night, mostly clear conditions are expected on Friday. Temperatures are to rise into the low twenties at all elevations. Winds are to be northwesterly with averages of ten to fifteen miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Above 9000 feet skiers and riders have the potential to initiate light surface snow in the form of sluffs or soft shallow surface slabs in steep terrain. Significant avalanche activity below 9000 feet is unlikely.
