A very shallow mostly stable early season snowpack has begun to accumulate. Some potential exists for humans to trigger isolated pockets of soft slab on very steep wind loaded northerly aspects above 9,500 feet that are underlain a crust from an early October storm. Below 9,000 feet the snowpack is generally less than a foot in depth and avalanches are not a hazard.

Once again another slightly weaker shot of moisture is expected to bring snow to Western Wyoming tonight, with 1-4 inches expected in the mountains and 0-3 in the valleys. At 9000' overnight lows near twenty degrees followed by highs near thirty on Sunday are expected. At 6500' a low in the mid twenties and high in low to mid thirties is expected. Decreasing 20-15mph average ridgetop winds from the South-Southwest are expected during this period.AVALANCHE HAZARD FOR THE TETONS, TOGWOTEE PASS/CONTINENTAL DIVIDE, GREYS RIVER/SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREASThe avalanche hazard for all the forecast areas through Sunday is LOW. There is insufficient snow amounts for avalanches below 9000'. The hazard is limited to very small isolated pockets of wind loaded snow that lie upon an early October crust on a few, very steep, very high, north facing slopes.
