Highlights

At the upper elevations pockets of soft slabs to two feet in depth could be triggered on steep wind loaded starting zones and in cliff areas today. These surface slabs have been formed by Southwest to West winds and previous snowfall. At the mid elevations the snowpack has gained strength and human triggered avalanches will be limited to isolated pockets to a foot in depth on very steep terrain. Avalanches at low elevations are unlikely today. Due to safety concerns the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is closed to backcountry users.
