Highlights

At the mid and upper elevations pockets of soft surface slab to two feet in depth lie upon weak layers of buried surface hoar and slick crusts. These slabs could be human triggered today on steep wind loaded aspects and in cliff areas. In addition weak layers of faceted snow persist deep in the snowpack and near the ground. Dangerous deep slabs could be triggered on these buried weak layers. At the lower elevations avalanches are unlikely today.
