Highlights

At upper elevations shallow new soft slabs have been deposited in avalanche terrain from last nights snow which was accompanied by cooler temps and varying winds. These slabs could be triggered on steep terrain and have the potential to pull out hard slabs of recent snow to four feet in depth particularly near cliff or rocky areas . At mid and low elevations, colder temperatures have added stability to the snowpack. At mid elevations pockets of shallow soft slab could be released by backcountry users on steep slopes. At low elevations avalanches are unlikely today.
