Highlights
12 to 20 inches of new snow in the past four days accompanied by high winds have created dangerous slabs over two feet in depth on lee slopes. The new snow rests on slick sun crusts on southern exposures and thick layers of weak, faceted snow on northerly aspects. Backcountry travelers easily triggered slides yesterday and Monday. Little new snow has fallen at low elevations but recrystalized snow several inches in depth will not support additional snow.
