The General Avalanche Hazard at Upper elevations is CONSIDERABLE. A foot of new snow and strong westerly winds have created sensitive slabs to two feet in depth on lee slopes near ridgecrests and crossloaded starting zones. With strong settlement, time and warm temperatures the possibility of people or surface slides starting deeper slabs up to six feet in depth seen at upper elevations is unlikely but possible and would require a large trigger. The General Avalanche Hazard at Mid elevations is MODERATE. Soft surface slabs are possible in wind loaded areas and steep, unskied terrain. The Avalanche Hazard at low elevations remains LOW as little new snow has accumulated.

Sunday's snows are to end Sunday evening with rapid clearing to follow and overnight lows near zero degrees in the mountains. Partly cloudy skies, highs in the teens, and strong Southwest winds in the afternoon are forecast for Monday. AVALANCHE HAZARD FOR THE TETON, TOGWOTEE PASS/CONTINENTAL DIVIDE AND GREYS RIVER/SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREASThe general avalanche danger is expected to be Moderate on Monday at the mid and upper elevations and Low at low elevations. Soft surface slabs may be triggered by backcountry users on steep wind loaded aspects and some chance remains to trigger deeper hard slabs in extremely steep terrain.Backcountry users are advised to consult area specific forecasts issued every morning as new information may become available and unexpected weather can change conditions.
