Avalanche Summary

The most dangerous slopes for triggering avalanches are where recent winds drifted snow into firm, connected slabs over weak snow. You're likely to find this setup on steep north, northeast, and east-facing slopes at upper elevations.

As the snowpack continues to weaken, it will become easier to trigger small loose avalanches on steep, shady, sheltered slopes. While small, these could be dangerous if they carry you into trees or a terrain trap.
