The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW. A mostly stable snowpack exists. Isolated pockets of soft surface slab up to six inches deep formed by northeast winds could be human triggered in very steep windloaded upper elevation starting zones.

The weak disturbance approaching the region is embedded in a moist, westerly flow and could produce an inch or two of snow overnight in the mountains and another one to three inches during the day on Sunday. Overnight lows should drop into the teens at the higher elevations and into the 20s in the valley before rebounding into the 30s in the mountains and 40s down low. Warm temperatures will result in rain or rain/snow mix at the lower elevations during the day on Sunday. Westerly ridgecrest winds are expected to increase overnight to 30 to 40 mph, with gusts to near 60.The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to remain LOW. Isolated pockets of new soft slab up to one foot in depth could be triggered by backcountry travelers in steep, wind-loaded starting zones.
