Highlights

Newly deposited slabs of 1' to 2' in depth have been deposited overnight at mid and upper elevations. These overlie widespread weak layers of surface hoar and near surface faceted crystals. Human triggered, soft-slab avalanches are likely today, and natural avalanches are possible in steep avalanche terrain, especially on leeward aspects. Human triggered avalanches are possible at lower elevations in steep cliff areas, gullies and along road cuts. Continued wind and snow will increase the hazard by this afternoon.
