Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE in steep wind loaded avalanche prone areas which are underlain by old layers of weak faceted October snow. In these areas dangerous dense slabs up to three feet in depth could be triggered by riders or skiers. Be aware of terrain traps and avoid steep wind loaded gullies. Avalanches are unlikely in areas not underlain by weak faceted old snow surfaces.
