Forecast Snow Stability: New snow and wind transport of existing snow will form localised areas of windslab in wind sheltered locations. Sheltered gullies and steep slopes with a North-East to South-Easterly aspect above 850 metres will be most affected. Fragile cornices may form above some of these locations. Elsewhere many slopes will have a generally thin stable cover of recent snow with wind scouring and icing affecting more exposed areas. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers overnight and fresh to strong generally Westerly winds will affect the area. A return to drier and calmer conditions is expected through the morning. The freezing level will be around 400 metres. Uncertainty exists around new snow quantities. Observed Weather Influences: Cold, dry and sunny conditions have affected the area with overnight freezing occurring at all levels. Winds have been moderate to fresh generally Westerly. ObservedSnowStability: A light cover of recent snow exists above 400 metres. Stability is generally good in most areas. Localised pockets of windslab exist in wind sheltered locations. Areas most affected are corrie rims and wind sheltered gully tops. These areas are generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
