Dry slab avalanches are the main danger.
The fresh wind slabs are easy to recognise and to be assessed with care and prudence. Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and on west facing slopes dry slab avalanches are possible, in particular medium-sized ones.
Wind slabs are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. In some cases the various wind slabs have bonded poorly together. In particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain the wind slabs will increase in size additionally. Above approximately 1700 m the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent.
