Stability: very poor · Frequency: some
Loose snow slides and dry slab avalanches are the main danger.
The fresh wind slabs are easy to recognise and to be assessed with care and prudence. Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and on west facing slopes dry slab avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones.
Wind slabs have formed adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. The various wind slabs have bonded generally well with each other and the old snowpack. In particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain the wind slabs will increase in size additionally.
