As a consequence of new snow and a strong wind, further wind slabs will form in the course of the day. In particular on wind-loaded slopes the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses. The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs are lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack in particular on shady slopes. A gradual increase in spontaneous avalanches, including large ones, is expected, in particular on very steep slopes. In particular on shady slopes these can be released in the faceted old snow. Off-piste activities call for defensive route selection.

20 to 60 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 2000 m. Over a wide area 25 to 40 cm of snow has fallen since yesterday above approximately 2000 m. In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2000 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Shady slopes: The snowpack consists of faceted crystals.

The avalanche danger will persist. In some localities increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of new snow and wind.
