Avalanche Activity

Moist and wet avalanches are possible from the morning.

A clear night will be followed in the early morning by quite favourable conditions generally, but the danger of wet avalanches will increase later. In particular on steep slopes more mostly small avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Below approximately 2400 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying. Backcountry tours and ascents to alpine cabins should be started and concluded early.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be generally moist. The new snow of the weekend has settled to a large extent. The meteorological conditions will foster a substantial strengthening of the near-surface layers. Only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.

Tendency

In the late morning as a consequence of solar radiation there will be a gradual increase in the avalanche danger.
