Forecast Snow Stability: Large areas of unstable windslab will continue to develop with greatest accumulations on steep North through East to South-East aspects above 850 metres. Fragile cornices will be present above these aspects. More localised accumulations will exist on other aspects and at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Light overnight showers will be snow at most levels, clearing by morning to give a dry day. The freezing level will be 400 metres overnight, gradually rising to 800 metres by the end of the day. Winds will be strong Westerly overnight, decreasing to light and backing to become Southerly by morning, then gradually increase in strength through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Showers throughout the day were snow at most levels. Winds were strong West-South-Westerly. The freezing level was around 400 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Unstable windslab is continuing to develop and becoming more widespread. Greatest accumulations are on North through East to South-East aspects above 850 metres. Fragile cornices are present above these aspects. Instabilities are also present in sheltered locations on other aspects due to cross loading and on steep slopes at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
