Forecast Snow Stability: As thaw conditions become established, surface instabilities will develop wherever there is soft snow overlying older snow-ice on steep terrain. Most aspects will be affected above 900 metres. Currently greatest depths of snow are on East through South to South-West aspects above 900 metres. Any remaining cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Initially cold overnight but by dawn the freezing level will be above the summits. Snow showers turning to light rain at all levels. Winds will be strong South-East overnight, easing during the day, East-South-East then East. Observed Weather Influences: Generally dry with a quick thaw freeze cycle last night. The freezing level currently around 950 metres or so. Strong winds from the South-East throughout. ObservedSnowStability: The majority of the snow is soft but remains well bonded. However surface instabilities were noted on steep terrain from any area holding recent new snow. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
