Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of poorly bonded windslab will continue to develop becoming more extensive in wind sheltered locations. Greatest accumulations will be on steep North through East to South-East aspects, mainly above 800 metres. Sheltered gullies, steep scarp slopes and coire rims will be particularly affected. Soft, newly formed cornices will be fragile. Windward slopes often scoured and icy. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight the freezing level will be 400 metres, rising to 900 metres during the morning, before lowering to 400 metres by the end of the day. Snow showers overnight, becoming more persistent during the morning, then easing from midday. Strong to gale force Westerly winds will prevail throughout the period. Observed Weather Influences: The freezing level was around 400 metres. Higher summit temperatures were minus 5.5 degrees celsius. Snow showers and very strong Westerly winds with drifting snow into sheltered locations.

ObservedSnowStability: New snow and strong Westerly winds have formed localised areas of moderately bonded windslab in wind sheltered locations. These new deposits are generally shallow but where accumulations have achieved depth, stability is poor. Sheltered gullies and steep slopes with a North through East to South-Easterly aspect above 800 metres are particularly affected. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
