Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab will develop on steep wind sheltered locations, especially gully tops and ridge flanks above 700 metres on North-East to South-East aspects. The existing snowpack will be stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Generally strong Westerly winds, with summit gales, throughout. The freezing level will gradually lower to 400 metres with snow showers forecasted throughout the period. Observed Weather Influences: Scattered snow showers, wintry above 550 metres. Strong winds from the West and a freezing level of 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: New amounts of snow are small, easily avoidable, and are in isolated areas on North-East to South-East aspects above 700 metres. Areas most affected are steep slopes, ridge flanks and corrie rims. The existing snowpack has good stability and wind exposed locations have a superficial dusting. The avalanche hazard is Low.
