Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of unstable windslab are expected to accumulate on North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres throughout the forecast period. Areas particularly affected will be steep corrie headwalls, gully exits and other wind sheltered locations. Fragile cornices will also build on these aspects. Wind exposed slopes will be mostly scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Strong to Gale Force Westerly winds are expected bringing frequent snow showers. The freezing level will drop from around 600 metres to 300 metres by late evening. Observed Weather Influences: Moderate to strong South-Westerly winds. A few brighter spells in-between the showers of rain. The freezing level was above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: Isolated patches of well bonded stable snow are all that remain on steep, sheltered North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. Below this elevation and on other aspects, virtually no snow is evident, and the ground is saturated due to the continued thaw. The avalanche hazard is Low.
