Forecast Snow Stability: New snow and strong winds will form areas of unstable windslab in sheltered gullies and on slopes with a mainly South-West through West to Northerly aspect above 700 metres, other areas may be affected by cross loading. Avalanches are likely where deep accumulations of windslab form and fresh cornices will be weakly bonded. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: New snow overnight and on Saturday will affect the area with up to 15 to 25 centimetres possible. Winds will be strong generally from the South-Easterly quarter. The freezing level will start the day around 800 metres rising to 1200 metres later. Observed Weather Influences: A strong cold Easterly airflow is affecting the area. A light dusting of new snow fell on the higher slopes overnight, it has been mainly dry today. The freezing level is around 600 metres.
