Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining wet snow pack will refreeze overnight above around 600 metres with improving stability. Later as the freezing level rises, the snow pack will soften. At higher levels some windslab instabilities will begin to build onto wind sheltered North-West through North to East aspects, mostly affecting very steep terrain such as the tops of gullies and ridge crests. The avalanche hazard will be Low

Forecast Weather Influences: There will be gale force South to South-West winds overnight reducing in strength during the day becoming strong West-South-West. Frequent showers are expected. The freezing level will lower to around 600 meters overnight, rising during the day to above 1100 metres. Observed Weather Influences: There have been heavy rain showers to summit levels, the winds have been strong South-South-West. The freezing level was around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snow pack has thawed at all levels with only some isolated wet snow instabilities remaining on very steep terrain mainly on North-West to North-East aspects above 800 metres. Elsewhere the snow pack has depleted with some lingering wet snow instabilities on steep banks and gullies, many wind exposed aspects are bare. The avalanche hazard is Low.
