Avalanche Activity

Generally safe travel conditions. Use caution on steep sunny slopes in the afternoon as the sun heats the snow surface. Wind slabs from Sunday are expected to be stable.

Tendency

New snow and wind could form wind slabs on top of loose, weak layers. Last week crisp and cold conditions formed near-surface facets, and these may get buried now. Avoid steep slopes with wind slabs. Areas with a loose snow surface will have stable conditions. Naturally released avalanches are expected in the evening.
