Wet snow
- Above 1,700 m
Moist slab avalanches and wet avalanches are the main danger.
At intermediate altitudes only a little snow is lying. The new snow of the last few days has bonded quite well with the old snowpack. The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is barely capable of bearing a load. The weather will be mild. These weather conditions will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on rocky sunny slopes. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the snowpack on north, northwest and northeast facing slopes.
Moist slab avalanches and wet avalanches are the main danger.
Above approximately 1700 m mostly small moist and wet snow slides are possible. These can be released, mostly by large loads or triggered naturally. Especially bases of rock walls are unfavourable. In addition on north, northwest and northeast facing slopes, still more very occasional small dry slab avalanches are possible. This applies in particular in case of a large load.
