Avalanche Activity

The surface of the snowpack will only just freeze and will soften during the day. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day there will be an increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches.

Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain natural moist avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small. The moist avalanches can occur easily or triggered naturally. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found especially on steep shady slopes at elevated altitudes and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Backcountry tours and off-piste skiing should be started early and concluded timely.

Snowpack Structure

The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day. The wind slabs have bonded generally well with the old snowpack.

Tendency

The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be a gradual increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches.
