Forecast Snow Stability: The wet snowpack will freeze, become firm and stability will be good. Localised areas of unstable windslab will develop in wind sheltered locations mainly on North-East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. These are not expected to be deep or extensive. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Gale force Westerly winds in the evening will ease to become fresh during the day. Showers, falling as snow above around 500 metres overnight, then a mainly dry day. Freezing level around 600 metres overnight rising to 850 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: It was a wet day with gale force West-South-Westerly winds. The freezing level was above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The wet snowpack is well bonded and stable in all locations. Any remaining cornices are prone to collapse. Snow cover is greatest on North to East aspects above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
