Forecast Snow Stability: Stable, well bonded snow throughout. Patchy snow below 900 metres but large areas will be encountered above this altitude, especially on North and East aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: Dry overnight. Very light rain during the middle of the day. There will be a trace of snow above 700 metres at the end of the period as the freezing level rapidly lowers from above the summits to around 800 metres. Light winds overnight will increase to become strong West-South-Westerly during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry and bright day with light, occasionally moderate, Westerly winds. Freezing level around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The surface layers of the snow are firm and icy with stable conditions throughout. Patchy cover below 900 metres but large areas remain above this altitude, especially in North and East facing corries. The avalanche hazard is Low.
