Little Yoho.
People are taking advantage of the solid conditions for couloir skiing, big alpine ascents or ice climbing. Travel conditions are excellent. Ski conditions remain challenging with breakable crusts or thin windslab.
Cloud and very light flurries are forecasted for the next several days. Winds will be generally light from the West with gusts up to 70 km/hr. Temperatures will be warmer than they have been, but still in the minus single digits. There are no significant inputs expected to affect the avalanche hazard.
The snowpack remains unchanged; locked in place by strong surface crusts up to almost 1800m. Above this, isolated pockets of soft snow can be found on the surface. No shears have been found in the upper snowpack, and no weak layers are currently active. As the temperatures warm, watch the overhead hazard for cornice exposure.
No new avalanches reported or observed today.
