The snowpack is mostly stable above 8,500 feet. Isolated pockets of new wind slab formed near peaks and high ridges yesterday when west winds transported loose snow. Below 8,500 feet, snow depths are insufficient for avalanche activity.

Skies will be mostly clear during the rest of the day. Temperatures will drop into the lower teens to single digits overnight and rise into the 20s to low 30s on Monday. Northwest winds will be light at 5 to 15 miles per hour.The snow that fell on Friday night lies upon a variety of crusts and faceted snow surfaces. Clear skies and cold temperatures will promote surface hoar growth and more faceting. The general avalanche hazard at the higher elevations is LOW and avalanches are unlikely. Snow depths below an elevation of 8,500 feet are insufficient for avalanche hazard.
