Stability: poor · Frequency: many
The danger exists in particular in alpine snow sports terrain. Numerous medium-sized and large natural avalanches are to be expected. In isolated cases, however, very large avalanches capable of endangering exposed parts of transportation routes are also possible.

New snow and wind slabs above approximately 2000 m. The new snow can be released naturally in all aspects above approximately 2000 m. Loose snow avalanches and slab avalanches are still to be expected. A high (level 4) danger of slab avalanches exists.
On steep shady slopes and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain avalanches are possible, even very large ones in isolated cases. Below approximately 2000 m medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large moist loose snow avalanches are possible.
The snowpack remains unstable over a wide area. Shady slopes where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are especially dangerous.
